The playing cards, or the paintings in the background of some works, symbolize the interpretation of the external world: in particular, all the elements were hit by bullets before being applied to the canvas, symbolizing real life. The use of vintage wallpaper creates a falsely comfortable space for the artistic representation. Milanese’s paintings are internal mirrors or exorcisms of fears, leaving the interpretation to the viewer.
