The X-Shaft Free tire rod is made by Sigal Sub using the best quality Swedish Sandvik steel, heat-treated to increase its mechanical characteristics. It is a very strong, rigid and precise rod, perfect for new and old generation airguns. X-Shaft Free rods are made in partnership with STC, a company that has patented one of the most popular vacuum systems for oil-pneumatic rifles. These rods are referred to as "bare" because they are devoid of the slide, washer and butt (tang). The rod is constrained to the monofilament or shooting line by a transverse hole positioned just before the fin. This provides a hydrodynamic enhancement given by the absence of bulky elements (buttplate, washer, and line scorer), which in turn generates an increase in ballistic performance of up to 10% over conventional systems. These rods are compatible with vacuum systems only. The fins, made of raw AISI 316L steel, provide great strength, and are of the "recessed" type. That is, they partially disappear in the profile of the rod. The single flap is modified by hand to prevent it from closing again after passing the fish.
