The Rug originates from the extraction of a decorative motif, taken from the “SHAPES AND COLORS” collection. “SHAPE AND COLOR” emphasizes rugs made with animal skin, consisting of head, tail, front legs, hind legs, and back. The fibers represent the “flower,” the upper part of the skin, the one with the hair and containing the outermost layer of the dermis, while the canvas represents the “crust,” the lower part of the skin. The piece, unlike real leather, is symmetrical, as if to exaggerate the artificial, but its symmetry contains inequalities, gestural inaccuracies obtained from the shades of the threads that give the entire work the uniqueness of handmade. Each color is divided by a thin layer of black threads, outlining the shapes, as if to represent the natural interruption of animal hair. The rug is composed of iridescent colors, given by silk, separated by symmetrical mirror shapes; the predominant color is green, interrupted by sharp blue shapes. Head and tail are purple, bordered by magenta and yellow. The piece, due to its vividness, can be placed on the floor or on the wall, to facilitate its full view, without depriving oneself of the view of every detail.
