This is a fabulous piece of mid-century silverwork from Mexico. The bracelet is made from Sterling Silver, and set with a mosaic of natural turquoise. Each panel features an engraving of the Aztec sun god Tōnatiuh, “The Fifth Sun”. This truly is an incredible piece of art. It is marked on the inside of the clasp ‘RSS’, ‘Sterling Mexico’ and ‘0925’. We have dated this to the 1940’s or 1950’s, based on other works by the same silversmith. The inner circumference of the bracelet is just over 17cm, and it is 2.8cm wide. The whole bracelet weighs in at 61 grams.
