Coyote leg bones, especially the tibia or femur, were used to make small tools for working hides, sewing, or basketry. Hollowed-out leg bones could serve as musical instruments or rattles during dances and ceremonies. Small coyote bones could be carved into fish hooks, bone needles, or arrow shaft ornaments.
